Currently, biodegradable plastics can be divided into two categories, depending on the source of the raw materials: bio-based and petrochemical-based. Biodegradable plastics include PLA, PHAs, starch substrates, cellulose, etc. Petrochemical-based degradable plastics include PBS, PBAT, PPC, PCL, PGA, etc.

Specifically, the PBAT/PBS family of products are primarily used in packaging, tableware, cosmetics bottles and medicine bottles, disposable medical supplies, agricultural films, pesticides and fertilizer slow-release materials, and more.

PCL is used in the manufacture and processing of molded materials and toys, as well as in medical applications such as shell sutures, bone studs, and controlled release carriers for long-acting drugs.

PLA is used in a wide range of plastics such as film, lunch boxes and other disposable products, textiles, 3D printing and biomedicine. PPC is used in film bag products, plastic film, express packaging, paper-plastic composite product applications, injection molding, blistering, extrusion products and environmental adhesives.

PGA is used in oil and gas extraction (bridge plug, fracturing ball, etc.), surgical sutures, bone nails and other medical fields, membranes, packaging materials, disposables and other fields.
